Work to improve amenities at two Clare beaches is set to begin late this year.
A team of consultants are soon to be appointed and tasked with developing new toilet facilities in Lahinch, while the council are working with Clare Water Safety on a bid for funding for similar works at Spanish Point.

Both sets of works are due to be complete in time for the 2017 tourist season.
Meanwhile, a planning application for a programme of developments in Kilkee is also expected by the end of the year.
Councillor Michael Hillery has been vocal on the need for such amenities and is pleased that progress is being made.
