Inchiquin Lake remains closed to the public due to algal bloom today but the local water supply is now back up and running.
While the water quality in the Corofin and Ruan areas has not improved sufficiently to warrant a lifting of restrictions, customers there are being provided with an alternative supply via the Dysart-Toonagh Group Scheme and Ennis Public Supply.
Signage has been erected at Inchiquinn Lake notifying the public of the ongoing closure.
Meanwhile, water restrictions affecting the Kildysart, Coolmeen and Cranny areas have also been lifted following 3 weeks of boil notices due to increased Managanese Levels.
Clare County Council and Irish Water say tests revealed the water is now suitable for drinking.
