Irish Water is being urged not to view plans to pump water from Clare to Dublin as a solution to the capital’s current water crisis.
With 600,000 homes in the Greater Dublin Area currently impacted by a boil water notice for the second time in a fortnight, it’s led to fresh concern over plans to pump water from the Shannon at Parteen up to the capital.
It’s estimated the pipeline system would cost between €1.4 billion and €2 billion and it has long been a sticking point for people in this region.
