Roche Site To Be Stripped Bare Before Any Sale Goes Through

It’s claimed the Roche site in Clarecastle will be stripped bare and made environmentally sound before any new buyer comes on board.

The Swiss pharmaceutical firm announced almost five years ago that it’s to pull out of this county and several attempted purchases later fell through.

Now though, it’s been confirmed that Roche and the IDA are to enter talks with a view to finding an investor for it as a brownfield site, meaning it would be available for a new industrial firm to build on.

Clarecastle Fine Gael Councillor Paul Murphy says the priority now will be ensuring the site is made safe so that it’s in top order for a new major investor.
