INMO Says Additional Resources Needed At Ennis General Hospital

The INMO claims additional resources are required at Ennis General Hospital if staff there are to deal with an overflow of patients from University Hospital Limerick.

New figures have revealed a substantial rise in the level of overcrowding in Ennis, with 220 people waiting on trolleys there between January and April, up from 41 the same time last year.

The rise is being attributed to a worsening of overcrowding at the region's main hospital, as patients are moved to Ennis to ease pressure on the Dooradoyle facility.

The INMO's Industrial Relations Represenatative for the Midwest Mary Fogarty says the current situation is not sustainable.
