Limerick Coroner’s Court heard 50 year old Patrick Lynch was standing next to a parked car just before midnight September 23rd 2011 when he was hit by a passing vehicle.

He was wearing dark, non reflective clothing at the time –

The driver of the car that hit him told gardaí  he had attempted to take evasive action once he saw the fifty year old while Sergeant Joe Fallon of Scarriff Garda Station informed the inquest that the DPP directed no charges be brought.

The jury then returned a verdict of accidental death in line with the medical evidence.
