The interim Garda Commissioner says she's determined that the people who murdered Adrian Donohoe will be pursued and apprehended.
The Detective Garda, whose wife Caroline hails from Kilkee, was shot dead during a botched robbery at the Lordship Credit Union outside Dundalk in Co Louth in January 2013.
Gardai previously stated they are satisfied that they've identified the gang members involved – but no arrests have yet been made.
However Noirin O'Sullivan says she is very confident that the people who murdered Adrian Donohoe will be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, Clare Gardaí say they feel it's difficult to maintain low crime levels in rural areas in particular, in light of recent cutbacks to the force and the closure of nearly ten stations here.
The Garda Representative Association continues its conference in Co. Kerry today, and Clare GRA representative and Ennis-based Garda Paul Crowley says cutbacks remain an area of concern.
