The son of a family who emigrated from West Clare has been awarded a prestigious honour of his work for the Irish community in the US State of Arizona.
Tom Montgomery has family links to Quilty, and he now co-owns two pubs in Phoenix.
In October, he’ll be one of two people honoured at the Anam Cara Emerald Anniversary Gala, which supports a local Irish Cultural Centre and Library.

Tom is being honoured for supporting the Irish community in any way possible, and is said to be humbled by the honour.
