A six-year-old Portuguese boy was also killed in the crash and the Irish child’s seven-year-old brother is in intensive care.
Local media sources say the children were passengers on a quad bike driven by an English man in his early 50s.
The Department of Foreign Affairs say they haven't received any requests for help from the little boy's Irish family.
