Preliminary investigations have begun at the site of significant dumping on the outskirts of Ennis.
The highly-publicised incidence of dumping has occurred off the Gort Road, close to the site of the former Our Lady’s Hospital and also to a recycling centre in the nearby Industrial Estate.
Potential evidence which could identify those responsible was found yesterday when Clare FM’s Morning Focus accompanied Council official Gerry Murphy to examine the site.

More investigations will be carried out when an extensive cleaning process gets underway, but Gerry has been telling Clare FM’s Gavin Grace that there was no need for such dumping.
