Gardaí in Kildare are working to establish the cause of last night’s crash which claimed the lives of four young women.
Aisling Middleton from Athy, and Chermaine Carroll, Niamh Doyle and Gemma Nolan, all from Carlow, loast their lives when the car in which they were travelling collided with a van near Athy shortly before 10 o'clock.

They were aged 19 and 20 years old.
The car’s driver and the two men who were travelling in the van are still being treated for their injuries.
