Iarnrod Eireann has confirmed that it will offer an online booking facility in the Ennis-Galway rail line.
The service has not previously been on offer for the service, but in a letter to Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey, Chief Executive Richard Fearn has confirmed that the on-line booking service will be offered by September, following changes to the company’s online booking software.

However, travellers who wish to avail of a catering service have been dealt a blow, as Mr. Fearn says the service will not be introduced as it would have to be subsidised.
