Irish Water has begun carrying out a survey of the sewerage network in Shannon.
A CCTV survey of sewers is underway in the Shannon Freezone Industrial Estate area, following a number of years in which there have been complaints about an odour in the town.

Irish Water says their survey will identify any repair, upgrade or replacement needs in the network.
The survey team will also, where needed, clean sewers though Irish Water is warning that temporary odours could occur during this work, though they insist these will be minor and short-term.
