Irish Water Carrying Out €2.1 Million Works On Shannon Sewers

Irish Water is investing €2.1 million in the upgrade of the sewer network in Shannon.

The works will address structural defects in the system there which will significantly reduce the threat of sewer collapses and blockages, as well as flooding and odour issues.

Locals there have been faced with persistent foul odour problems in recent years, while Irish Water says blockages caused by cotton pads, wet wipes and other items that should not be flushed have also led to issues.
