Irish Water Fined Over Failure To Deal With Issues In Kilfenora Supply

Irish Water has been fined in court after admitting to breaching water regulations at Kilfenora in North Clare.

The state utility has been fined €9,000, and ordered to pay costs, in respect of EPA prosecutions that relate to three locations – the other two are in Cork.

The Irish Times reports that the case in Kilfenora related to ground water entering the supply of drinking water, and that the problem has existed since 1974.
