Irish Water has announced plans for a significant upgrade of the Doonbeg Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The State utility will work with Clare County Council on the project which they say will greatly improve water supplies to the area.
It comes after many years concerns from business owners and residents that the existing infrastructure isn’t up to scratch.

Community activist and 2020 Fianna Fáil General Election candidate Rita McInerney says the improvements will be a huge factor in allowing for further development in the area.
