An Irish man is in custody in Amsterdam this morning after he was detained yesterday on foot of an international arrest warrant.
Freddie Thompson – who's in his early 30's – is being sought by Gardaí for questioning in connection with a serious assault in Dublin in January of last year.

He had been living in Spain but had been given permission to return to Ireland for a funeral.
