Three men have been handed jail terms for an armed robbery in Sixmilebridge, during which one of the raiders threatened the female homeowner and her young son.
26 year old Simon Gentles of Casement Grove, Finglas in Dublin pleaded guilty to the aggravated burglary in January 2010, and has been handed a four-year jail term at Ennis Circuit Court.
50 year old Noel O’ Callaghan and 23 year old Martin O’ Callaghan, both of Finian Park Shannon, had also pleaded guilty and were handed three-year jail terms for their roles in the crime.
Last month Ennis Circuit Court heard Simon Gentles burst into the home of Nora Fitzpatrick at Ardklye, and pointed a loaded sawn-off shotgun at her and her 14 year old son.
The raiders subsequently made off with a laptop.
