Azerbaijan have won the Eurovision Song Contest.
The counting of votes came to a close at Eurovision headquarters in Germany, within the last half hour.
Ireland, and Jedward with their performance of ‘Lipstick’ placed 8th.

They picked up maximum points from neighbours Britain, and from Denmark and Sweden, but it wasn’t enough to beat the might of the former Soviet Union States – in the end, Azerbaijan finished with twice as many points as the Grimes twins.
