The Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton says the increase in employment levels shows the Action Plan for Jobs is working.
According to the CSO, employment levels increased by almost 34 thousand people or 1.8 per cent in the year to the end of the second quarter.
The Central Statistics Office says it represents the third successive quarter, showing an annual rise in employment.
Minister Richard Bruton says the increase in those at work is across all occupations.
