Joint Policing Committee adjourned as mark of respect to murdered garda

Senior Gardaí  in Clare have been expressing their shock over the brutal murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohue.

Its five days since  the father of two who’s wife Caroline Deloughery comes from Kilkee in West Clare was gunned down during a armed raid on a credit union in Dundalk

Last evening’s scheduled meeting of the Clare Joint Policing Committee was adjourned as a mark of respect to the Detective Garda, with Councillors and Oireachtas representatives joining with community groups conveying their respects to the Deloughery and Donoghue families.

Sympathies were also expressed to members of An Garda Siochanna, following what was described as an ‘evil’ and ‘despicable’ act which has shocked the nation.

Inspector John Galvin of the Clare Gardaí  says the incident has rocked members of the force too

Meanwhile,

The Cabinet will today be briefed on the murder of Garda Adrian Donohoe.  Party leaders will also make statements on the matter in the Dáil this evening.
