Nearly 1,000 new cars were registered in Clare in the first month of 2016.
A total of 963 cars were registered here in the month of January, according to figures published by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.

That marks a 23% increase on the figure for the same month last year.
Nationally, January saw an annual increase of 10,000 in the number of new vehicles registered.
SIMI Director Tom Cullen is confident of further growth in the motor market in 2016.
