Essential flood relief works to prevent a repeat of the major flooding which hit Ennis in recent years are being stepped up.
Junior Finance Minister Brian Hayes is to visit Ennis Town Council this morning to sign a 7.1 million euro contract to progress the next stage of the Ennis Flood Relief Scheme.

The money will allow for works to be taken along a stretch of the river from Bank Place Bridge to Doora Bridge and it’s hoped the measures will ease the threat of renewed flooding in the county town.
