Junior Agriculture Minister Tony Killeen is coming under increasing pressure to prevent the closure of the Clare District Vetinary Office

The Ennis premises is one of 45 nationwide set to be shut and staff relocated as part of a plan to save 30 million euro and shed 400 jobs.

Junior Agriculture Minister Tony Killeen is coming under increasing pressure to prevent the closure of the Clare District Vetinary Office

The Ennis premises is one of 45 nationwide set to be shut and staff relocated as part of a plan to save 30 million euro and shed 400 jobs.

The future of all the Clare staff isn’t yet know but its understood they will be relocated to Raheen.

However opposition TD’s claim the move to close the Ennis office will actually waste money as the premises are owned by the Department unlike Raheen which is rented.

Clare Independent Councillor James Breen is calling for an emergency meeting of Clare County Council to discuss the issue.
