The jury in the trial of a retired Clare school teacher who is accused of indecently assaulting 11 former pupils over a 21-year-period will resume deliberations today.
The 80-year-old man had denied the 67 counts of indecent assault that were alleged to have occurred between 1964 and 1985.

Yesterday the judge directed that he be found not guilty in respect of eight of these, and jurors began their discussions on the remaining 59 counts.
The two-and-a-half week trial heard from 11 women who allege that the former teacher indecently assault them, and from other pupils who say they never saw the accused behave inappropriately with other students.
