Less than half a dozen families from Limerick City’s regeneration area have opted to move to County Clare as part of the controversial dispersal policy.
It’s emerged that 9 million euro was provided to the local authorities in Limerick and Clare over the past two years for the contentious scheme to re-house families from the Southhill, Moyross and Ballinacurra Weston areas.
However the head of the regeneration agencies says Limerick received the majority of the funding with just over a million going to Clare as only around seven housing applications here were made by families.
Brendan Kenny added that the funding will be further reduced this coming year as the work is finally expected to begin next month on the first homes under regeneration
