Justice Minister says there’s no official report of checkpoint incident

Justice Minister Alan Shatter says there is no report into his being stopped by Gardaí and failing to complete a breathalyser test around 5 years ago.

In a brief statement this morning the minister says no report was generated by the Garda who stopped him at a routine checkpoint.

He says a further search of the Garda computer computer system has failed to locate such a report.

Minister Shatter faces a motion in no confidence in the Dáil over the next two days after Deputy Mattie McGrath asked last week about the events leading to his being stopped by Gardai and failing to complete the Breathalyser test.
