The South East Clare Businessman kidnapped by armed men in Sierra Leone has expressed his appreciation to the authorities there and in Ireland for their support during the security incident.
In a statement to Clare Fm Gerry Mulconroy of the Tailrace Bar in Parteen says he is in good health and spirits and remains confident in the investigation being carried out by officials in Sierra Leone.
Mr Mulconroy also says he is greatly appreciative of the support and goodwill he has received particularly from friends and family in County Clare.
Its reported the businessman invested in a gold mining venture in the country last year but when he realised he had been defrauded returned to try and pursue his former associates and was then snatched from outside a hotel in the capital but rescued by police a number of hours later.
