An Irish record was equalled at the Irish Christmas Tree Throwing Championship in Ennis yesterday.
Gary O’Growney, originally from Dublin but now living in Kilfenora, threw a standard 1.5metre tree 10.2 metres to claim the title at Tim Smyth Park.

He beat scottish man Sean Jaffray by just 30cm.
Norah Murphy won the ladies title, and over 100 people took part with funds raised going to the Clare Branch of Cystic Fibrosis.
