A little bit of Cuba has come to Kilkee this weekend – as it hosts a Latin American Festival in honour of Che Guevara.
The world’s most famous revolutionary and his entourage travelled to the West Clare seaside resort – fifty years ago in 1961- and it was there that the iconic image – seen on posters and t-shirts across the globe was born.
It was created by Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick who served Guevara in a local bar in Kilkee during his stay.
