The upcoming tourism season in Kilkee has been dealt a blow with confirmation the local tourist office won’t reopen this summer.
Shannon Development, which operates the service says that following a review , it found the office unsustainable given its proximity to Kilrush, which has outperformed the Kilkee Office for the past 3 years.
An information point will now instead be set up in the West Clare Town for the summer months.

However Fine Gael TD Joe Carey who sought clarification on the issue from Shannon Development says it will have an adverse financial impact on the town
