A South East Clare Nursing Home which has been the subject of 4 HIQUA inspections in the past 12 months has been criticised for failing to act on issues raised during successive visits.
The healthcare watchdog say they are not satisfied the health and well-being of some residents at the Lakes Nursing Home in Killaloe are being well met.
Inspectors expressed concerns that matters previously raised such as fire training, medication and restraint management as well has vetting hadn’t been satisfactorily addressed.
In their latest inspection in March they highlighted the need for significant improvment in several areas and issued 18 recommendations.
however the Elder Healthcare Group which operates the nursing home has hit back at the inspection describing it as overly critical and expressed disappointment that it didn’t reflect the good care given to residents or the improvements made
