Attention will soon turn to Willie O Dea’s replacement with Junior Minister Tony Killeen one of the names being suggested for the job.
While the Taoiseach says he will take over the portfolio for now Brian Cowen is likely to move swiftly to fill the post and there will be strong pressure on him to ensure Limerick doesn’t lose its strong presence at the cabinet table.
Therefore Junior Minister and Limerick East TD Peter Power the frontrunner for the job, however other names being mooted are Clare’s Tony Killeen, Connor Lenihan, Pat Carey and outside bet Martin Manseragh.
