Kilmaley-Based Director Of Trocaire Says Authorities Need To Rethink Approach To Migration Crisis

The Kilmaley Executive Director of Trocaire says authorities need to completely rethink the way they are dealing with Europe's migration crisis.

It's after more than 200 migrants and refugees who failed to gain asylum have been sent back to Turkey on the first boats from Greece under an EU deal.

Their deportation is part of an agreement designed to limit migration into Europe.

Around 4-thousand people have been detained on Greek islands since the agreement came into effect on the 20th of March.

But Eamon Meehan believes people trying to gain entry to Europe should have their cases assessed on an individual basis.
