The Murrihy family from Kilmihil are paying tribute to personnel who sprang into action when their 1 year old son PJ lost part of his finger in an accident on Monday.

Paramedics, the Red Cross and the Shannon-based rescue helicopter were all involved in the operation which swiftly transferred PJ to University Hospital Galway for surgery.

PJ is now recovering at home, and his Dad Leslie says the family is very thankful for the efforts of all involved.
