The town of Kilrush and its surrounding areas is to lay its parish priest to rest today.
Rev Michael Sheedy, a native of Cooraclare, passed away suddenly at University Hospital Limerick earlier this week.
Rev Sheedy was appointed in the West Clare parish in 1989 after spending 17 years in Nenagh.

He’ll be laid to rest following a funeral mass at 2pm this afternoon in St Senan’s Church, Kilrush.
