The Minister for Communications says that they will deliver high-quality broadband to rural Ireland.
A pilot programme will be run in the village of Ratheniska in Co Laois – the home of this year's Ploughing Championships.

The scheme has been trialed in Sligo and Dundalk – but the government want to try to access more rural areas now.
Minister Alex White says the government will support private ventures to provide broadband where necessary.
