Speculation that a Clare GAA Star may be a candidate for the Labour party has been quashed.
Rumours were rife that a well known intercounty sportsman would run on a labour ticket in an upcoming general election.

Labour are hoping to increase their number of seats in the region, however the party hasn’t been very successful in the Mid West with Michael D. Higgins the only Labour representative.
Local Labour Councillor, Pascal Fitzgerald – who contested the last General Election, says prospective candidates won’t be announced just yet.
