Clare has been put on high alert for flooding, as yet another Atlantic storm bears down on Ireland.
Thousands have had second night without power, while further problems with Clare's water supply are expected today.
As another Atlantic storm tracks over the country, a flood and storm warning has been issued by Clare County Council.
The local authority says there is a significant risk of river, coastal and tidal flooding, and also warn of potential travel disruption on the county’s roads as a result of trees falling that have already been already compromised by Wednesday’s storm.
7,000 Clare homes and businesses were among the 75,000 natiownide without power for a second night.
Problems are widespread in West, East and South-East Clare, but throughout the county, thousands remain in the dark nearly 48 hours after the county was hit by near-hurricane force winds.
ESB crews worked late into last night, and have restored power power to around 3,000 people here, but the company says it cannot guarantee when electricity will be switched back on for all homes and business.
Meanwhile, further issues are expected with Clare's water supply today, as power cuts continue to affect local pumping stations.
The communities of Shannon, Newmarket on Fergus, Sixmilebridge and Killaloe had further restrictions overnight, and had to rely on water tankers in public areas last evening.
The Council is expected to issue further updates on the water situation later this morning.
Meanwhile, as a result of the ongoing issues, the Boys and Girls Schools in Killaloe, along with National Schools in Sixmilebridge, Kilmurry, Crusheen, Doolin, as well as Furglan National School in North Clare have all confirmed to Clare FM that they're unable to re-open.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Transport has praised the efforts of those involved in this week's storm response and says we're lucky no-one died.
Minister Leo Varadkar was in Shannon yesterday where he was told about the high winds which knocked over an Aer Arann Plane on Wednesday and the recent flooding damage to the airport embankments for which funding of 1.5 million euro has been allocated.
