Leading UHL Consultant Says Operation Situation ‘Vastly Worse’ Than At Height Of Pandemic

A leading consultant at the region’s main hospital says the operational situation at the facility now is ‘vastly worse’ than it was at the height of the pandemic.

It comes as University Hospital Limerick and other facilities across the country continue to be adversely impacted by the HSE cyber attack, with the health service warning the impact will be felt for many weeks to come.

The UL Hospitals Group is urging patients to only present to its ED in an emergency, with widespread cancellations across the group’s six facilities impacting patients in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.
