A Lisdoonvarna hotelier has revealed that he received a letter threatening to burn down his business, because of its links with a gay and lesbian festival being held in the North Clare village this weekend.
However, Marcus Whyte of the Hydro Hotel insists most of the reaction he has received to the event has been positive.
The Outing, which has made headlines around the world, will be held in tandem with the first weekend of the traditional matchmaking festival, and organisers are hopeful it will draw increased crowds into the North Clare area.
Marcus Whyte is hopeful it will become an annual event, even though it has been opposed by some.
