The summer is officially in full swing today as lifeguards take up full time duty on the Banner's coasts.

Staff will be out in Yellow and Red flag areas at Lahinch, Spanish Point, Fanore, Ballyvaughan, Dooli, Whitestrand, Quilty, Kilkee, Kilrush, Killaloe and Mountshannon between now and the end of the summer season.
Parents are being urged to only allow children to swim in areas covered by lifeguards – with authorities calling on all beach goers to respect any instructions they may receive from the trained personnel.
