Shannon Chamber is supporting moves that could lead to a rail link for the town.
As part of its submission to a new Transport Plan for the Limerick and Shannon area, the business representative group is calling for a light-rail system to serve the town, along with extended walk-ways and cycle-paths.
Separately, the government is also undertaking a study to assess the potential for a rail link for Shannon Airport and the town.
