Doubt has been cast over the futures of 450 employees of a Limerick metal plant, after sanctions were imposed on its Russian owners by the US.
Aughinish Alumina is owned by Russian parent company Rusal, which has been included on a list of firms targeted by US sanctions, as relations between Russia and the West continue to cool.
The Irish Independent Reports that the impact on Aughinish Alumina is now being monitored closely by Enterprise Minister Heather Humphreys and Enterprise Ireland officials.
