Nurses at the Emergency Department at Limerick Regional Hospital are to hold a 4 hour work stoppage next Wednesday in protest at staffing levels and budget cuts.
The stoppage will take place from 1 until 5pm next Wednesday but the Union says it will will maintain a nursing presence, in the Department, over the 4 hour period to ensure unforeseen developments are be responded to immediately.
Last week members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation overwhelmingly voted in favour of industrial action.

They are calling on HIQA, An Bord Altranais and the Medical Council to inspect all hospitals, to see the impact of continuous overcrowding.
