Tourism in North Clare is expected to get a much needed boost during September as the Annual Matchmaking Festival in Lisdoonvarna gets into full swing this weekend.
The month long event attracts up to 20 thousand people both young and old from across the globe, some in search of love, others to drink the world famous spa waters, the endless dancing, the races or simply the craic.

The four weeks will culminate in the traditional Queen of the Burren and Mr Lisdoonvara competitions.
