The first weekend of this year’s traditional matchmaking festival, getting underway in the coming days, will have a unique twist with the added gay and lesbian component of The Outing.

A first in the 150-year of the Lisdoonvarna festival, the story is making headlines in ‘Out’ magazine, the largest such publication aimed at America’s LGBT community.
Local matchmaker Willie Daly is quoted as saying that it will be nice for gay people ‘to find love and happiness’ though he does admit it will be ‘different’.
