LIT President Warns New Financial Model Needed To Ensure Technological University Is Sustainable

The President of LIT is warning that a new financial model for higher education will have to be developed to ensure its transition into a technological university is sustainable.

It comes as the institution has confirmed a new entity in conjunction with Athlone IT will be formed by the autumn, which will see a technological university in the Midlands and the Midwest.

It means Ennis will officially become a university town, with the Bindon Street campus, which opened back in 2019, to fall under the remit of the new institution.
