No more candidates have been elected, but a number have seen their hopes dashed in the local election count in Clare.
Following the election of Johnny Flynn in the Ennis area, Bernard Hanrahan (Clarecastle, FF) has bowed out after 14 counts.

In Shannon, meanwhile, former Sinn Féin member and Independent Cathy McCafferty has been eliminated along with Fianna Fáil first time candidate Louise Roche-McNamara.
The wait for a first count in West Clare continues, but counting of votes from the county's largest electoral area continues.
