Take up of paternity leave benefit in Clare remains low.
Since September last year, new fathers have had the opportunity to avail of two weeks paid leave to care for their newly born children, during which they would receive a total of 470 euro.
However, only 235 Clare fathers have availed of this money in the scheme’s first seven months.

Typically, over 1,500 babies are born in Clare each year.
